Legal Aid to Sport in Ukraine is a new social project of the UBA Committee on Sports Law, created with the support of AGA Partners.
The aim of the project is to contribute to the development and legal protection of sports in Ukraine.
How? By providing free (pro bono) legal advice on contractual, employment, transfer relationships, disciplinary matters and any other legal issues that arise in the course of sports activities.
This project is for: athletes, sports teams, and sports federations.

AGA Partners and INTL FCStone have held Hedging Strategies to Protect Price Risk and GAFTA Contracts course in the framework of XIV International Conference “Black Sea Grain-2017”.
Participants of the workshop learned about hedging in agribusiness, strategies commercial firms can use to protect their price risk, and about crucial issues related to the execution of GAFTA contracts.
We have provided a detailed analysis of the most common mistakes of the parties, the consequences of non-fulfillment of the contract, as well as dispute resolution, considering peculiarities of trade in Black Sea region market.
Irina Moroz, Partner at AGA Partners, has participated as speaker at the round table "Realization of the person’s reproductive rights in Ukraine and the U.S. Supplementary motherhood", held by the UBA Committee on Medical Law. Irina told about the actual challenges of reproductive treatment of foreigners in Ukraine.
During the event, the participants discussed the legal regulation of the assisted reproductive technologies and ways to solve problems in this field.

Ivan Kasynyuk, Partner at AGA Partners, has spoken at the conference Middle East Grain Congress 2017, Dubia. He told the audience about the legal aspects of grain trade and quality issues.
During the event, more than 160 participants from 24 countries, discussed the current trends in the world grain market and prospects of its development in the new season, the twists and turns of world trade in grains and pulses.

How to turn termination of contract into $10.5 mln?
AGA Partners team, represented by Ivan Kasynyuk, Partner, and Associates – Dmitry Koval and Iurii Gulevatyi, has won in FOSFA International Arbitration. The case concerned the byuer’s termination of the contact for the supply of soybeans to the Russian Federation, due to restrictions on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine.
Thanks to a strong legal position and correct line of reasoning, the arbitral Tribunal has fully satisfied our client's claim for USD 10.5 million default losses.
Ivan Kasynyuk, Partner at AGA Partners, has participated as speaker in the discussion of the legal aspects of financing in the agricultural sector held by UBA Committee on agricultural law.
It’s worth noting that few banks are willing to lend to the agricultural sector. At the same time, if the company has already collaborated with the creditor bank, it plays a positive role in its evaluation as a contractor, because it shows partner’s reliability.
Also, the participants discussed possible risks during performance of forward contracts and possible ways of their prevention.

IV International Forum of Promotion of Legal Services, organized by Legal Practice newspaper, has become an international platform for exchange of experience in promotion of legal business.
Aminat Suleymanova, Managing Partner of AGA Partners, speaking in the section «Success Stories - lessons that inspire ..." has told about consistency of chance or how a visit to dry cleaners can change the life.
The main message of the speech was formulated as "if you are not satisfied – change something." While you're sitting there, where it is warm and well – nothing will happen, – Ms. Suleymanova said.

We are pleased to announce that AGA Partners' team has won the case in GAFTA International International Arbitration (London), where Irina Moroz, Partner, and Dmitry Koval, company’s Associate, represented the interests of the client.
The case concerned a dispute as to whether there was a contract. The main goal was to prove the existence of a contract, as during a long negotiation and discussion, the market price for goods fell, and the defendant refused to sign the contract. Under the framework of English law, a contract can be regarded as concluded without the signatures of the parties, if they have formally agreed on the main provisions.
Thanks to a strong legal position and correct line of reasoning, the arbitral Tribunal confirmed the conclusion of the contract, despite the absence of the parties’ signatures, and fully satisfied our client's claim for $1 million of default losses.
Dmitry Koval, Associate at AGA Partners law firm, has been organizer and speaker of the round table of Ukrainian Bar Association Committee on International Law devoted to the problem aspects of trade with the Crimean peninsula and international investment arbitration.
During the event, the participants discussed the legal status of the peninsula, the real situation with trade in Crimea and the violation of the sanctions regime, as well as asset recovery mechanisms through referral to the International Investment Arbitration, the UN courts and the ECHR.
In particular, Dmitry Koval analyzed the events that took place after the annexation of Crimea and the international community's reaction to these events.
The speakers also touched upon the current investment arbitration processes, namely Ukraine — Russia public disputes and focused on cases under consideration by the European Court of Human Rights.
